The Faces of Cancer

Numbers.......

Think of 46 children in a picture. All happy, healthy, athletic, having fun, goofing around, innocent.
That's the number of kids who will be diagnosed with cancer today.

And tomorrow. And the day after. All through next week. All month. All year. Ad infinitum.
Until we stop it.

Look again, totally randomly.  Seven children in the picture. Black, white, orange, yellow, brown, green.  2 days old, 20 years old, it doesn't matter. That’s the number of kids who will DIE from cancer today.

And tomorrow. And the day after. All through next week. All month. All year. Ad infinitum.
Until we stop it.

When you read the stats, when you see the numbers, NEVER EVER forget that those numbers have NAMES...faces full of love, Moms & Dads, brothers & sisters, friends & families, hopes & dreams...futures.
Childhood cancer is the number one killer of children by disease. It is the second leading cause of death of children, exceeded only by accidents.
Each year, about 3,000 children die from cancer-more than from asthma, diabetes, cystic fibrosis, congenital anomalies, and pediatric AIDS....COMBINED.
The incidence of childhood cancer is increasing. The cause of this is unknown.
